Why Join an International Club?

Lou Paliani, President, VTCI

“Why should I join your national club, what can you do for me?”

  • It furthers the interest to a higher level in every aspect of that interest.

  • It establishes an identity and provides standards of expertise, maintaining value of any material objects involved with the interest, in our case, our cars.

  • It gives the Interest visibility and access to events and information with an intensity that no local club could ever hope to achieve.

  • It can participate and endure for longer time spans creating traditions and forums for members to take part in through the years.

  • It creates opportunities for travel and to meet and make friends on an international plane that no local club could hope to approach.

  • It offers opportunity to further technical information, obtain parts, and share Thunderbird stories in a variety of mediums throughout the world.

  • It provides you insurance coverage at national and local events.

And most of all, my favorite; an opportunity to share your passion and experiences with a wonderful group of people you would never meet at a local Chapter event. An International club brings people together from all over the world and facilitates friendships that last through the years. If there wasn’t an International Club, what would T-Birding be like?

"What Do I get From the VTCI?"

Here's your opportunity to share in the Personal World of VTCI. When your application and dues are processed, you're sent the bi-monthly Award winning Thunderbird Scoop and a membership card with your VTCI Membership ID Number. This number helps in any correspondence with the Club.

"Dare To Compare"

We know that there's other groups out there doing the same thing we are. VTCI has been around since 1968 (originally known as the Vintage Thunderbird Club of America-The Squarebird Society), something the other groups can't even come close to emulating. When considering other groups, ask yourself "What do I get for my money?"

  • Do I get a quality publication? Thunderbird Scoop is an award-winning magazine (recipient of Old Cars Weekly's "Golden Quill" since 1991) - a Magazine - which provides members with exciting color photography on its covers and 8 center pages of member-owned T-birds (not color photocopies),  articles which focus on the many facets of owning, restoring and maintaining a T-bird, and columns which feature some of the best writers in the T-bird hobby. Thunderbird Scoop focuses strictly on T-birds - no irrelevant fluff or filler - just good, solid information which T-bird owners want and use. How to submit a photo for the Scoop cover

  • Do I get my magazine on time? Thunderbird Scoop comes every two months, and within the first few weeks of the cover date.

  • Does the club hold sanctioned events in my area? VTCI and its chapters conduct up to five sanctioned Regional Conventions and an International Convention  around the US/Canada during the year, giving members a chance to participate without going clear across the country. Others just hold a single national convention, usually within the same geographic area, year after year.
